TAWA, REFUGE OF THE PUELO
A few years ago, the Tagua - a native bird of Chile - lived here, in the Puelo River, building its nests on the shore of Tagua Tagua Lake.
In Tawa, Refugio del Puelo, we were inspired by the history of this bird and created a space of harmony and connection with nature, where you can live a cozy, unique, simple and authentic experience, a true refuge in the immensity of this valley.
A place to dream, a place to plan adventures, a place to explore, a place to share and also to rest while enjoying the simplicity, elegance and warmth that only nature can give us.
ARCHITECTURE
"TAWA is a set of volumes of different designs and freely arranged to optimize views, achieve privacy, conquer the forest and the river edge, all connected by walkways and lost among myrtle trees, rocks and dust.
As a finishing touch, right at the junction of the lake and the river, the restaurant is located. A higher construction that looks out to face the lake and stands out to summon the traveler: A shelter that takes the form of an A-house, opening the views to the highest hills in search of light and closing the lateral waters to protect from the coldest and rainiest winds that enter from the valley and from the lake. Puelo Valley
The Puelo River with its turquoise waters shapes one of the most spectacular basins in southern Chile. Lakes, forests and mountains make up a pristine and wild territory, gateway to Northern Patagonia. Its source is in Lake Puelo, Argentina, and its waters flow into the Pacific through the Reloncaví estuary.
In the middle of this journey, the river gives life to Tagua Tagua Lake, a strategic point from which we can enter the immensity of this valley, and at the same time, rest in the warmth of the Tawa, Refugio del Puelo.
